Advanced Digital Mixing Console for Live Sound and Installations
The Allen & Heath Avantis is a high-performance digital mixing console built for professional live sound, touring, broadcast, and installed audio systems. Powered by a 96 kHz FPGA engine and designed with a highly flexible workflow, Avantis delivers large-format console power in a compact footprint, giving engineers precise control over complex mixes without slowing down operation.
96 kHz FPGA Processing with Professional Audio Quality
At the heart of Avantis is Allen & Heath’s XCVI FPGA core, providing ultra-low latency and consistent audio performance across all channels and buses. With support for up to 64 channels and 42 configurable buses, the console handles demanding productions while maintaining clarity, headroom, and stable performance. This processing architecture makes Avantis well suited for concerts, theaters, broadcast environments, and fixed installations where reliability is critical.
Dual Touchscreens and Hands-On Control Workflow
Avantis features two large Full HD capacitive touchscreens that form the center of its control surface. The interface tightly integrates physical faders, rotary controls, and touch navigation so engineers can access EQ, dynamics, routing, and effects without menu diving. Touch-sensitive faders and assignable SoftKeys allow fast adjustments during live operation, helping engineers stay focused on the mix rather than the interface.
Flexible I/O and Expansion for Scalable Systems
The rear panel includes analog XLR inputs and outputs along with stereo AES connections, supporting a wide range of microphones, playback sources, and outboard gear. An SLink port allows connection to Allen & Heath remote stage boxes and personal monitoring systems, while dual I/O expansion slots support optional Dante, MADI, Waves, and other audio networking cards. This flexibility makes Avantis easy to integrate into both small systems and large networked audio infrastructures.
Integrated Effects, Processing, and Assistive Mixing Tools
Avantis includes multiple stereo effects engines with dedicated returns, supporting high-quality reverbs, delays, and modulation effects without external processors. The console also offers built-in assistive tools such as real-time analysis, automatic microphone mixing, and gain management features that help streamline setup and reduce common live sound issues like feedback and uneven levels.
Recording, Control Apps, and System Integration
For recording and playback, Avantis supports USB stereo recording and internal storage, making it easy to capture performances or provide reference playback. Engineers can also take advantage of remote control software and mobile apps to adjust mixes wirelessly from anywhere in the venue. These control options allow front-of-house, monitor, and system engineers to work simultaneously without interrupting each other.
