Compatibility is the whole point of a cable like this, so match it carefully: the ECM-3 works with Zoom's first-generation (Capsule System 1.0) input capsules including the XYH-6, MSH-6, SSH-6 and SGH-6. On the recorder side it supports the H5, H6, Q8 Handy Video Recorder, U-44 audio interface, and the F1, F4, F8 and F8n field recorders. It cannot be used with the newer V2.0 capsules built for the H8 — the XAH-8, EXH-8 and VRH-8.
