Zoom APH-5 Accessory Pack for the H5 Handy Recorder with Remote Control

Zoom APH-5: The Accessory Pack That Adds Remote Control to the H5

The Zoom APH-5 is the accessory pack for the H5 Handy recorder, and it is the one APH bundle built around a remote. Alongside a hairy windscreen, an AD-17 USB AC adapter, and a USB cable, it includes the RCH-5 wired remote control, which is what sets this pack apart from the windscreen-and-case bundles made for the newer essential recorders. For an H5 owner, it turns a capable four-track recorder into one you can operate hands-off. It is the intended companion kit for the original H5.

Zoom APH-5: Hands-Off Recording With the RCH-5 Remote

The RCH-5 wired remote ships with an extension cable and lets you start, stop, and control the H5 from away from the unit. That is the feature interviewers, solo videographers, and anyone recording themselves care about, because it means triggering a take without leaning into the mic or nudging the recorder. On a boom, a stand, or across a table, the remote keeps handling noise out of the recording. This capability is the reason to buy the APH-5 rather than assemble accessories piecemeal.

Zoom APH-5: Wind Protection and Wall Power

The hairy windscreen fits over the H5's XY capsule to cut the low rumble wind creates outdoors while keeping the true sound intact, so location recordings stay clean. The bundled AD-17 is Zoom's 5V USB adapter, giving the H5 steady wall power for long sessions instead of running down its AA batteries, and the USB cable handles power and file transfer to a computer. Together they cover the H5's field and desk needs beyond the remote. It rounds out the recorder for both studio and location use.

Zoom APH-5: Who It Is For

H5 owners who want remote operation, wind protection, and reliable power in one purchase are the target. This pack is built for the original H5 with its interchangeable-capsule system; the newer H5studio takes the APH-5s pack, which swaps the remote for a WSH-5s windscreen and a protective case. For the classic H5, the APH-5 is the matched accessory bundle, and its remote is the standout reason to own it.
