Yamaha DBR12 Features:

  • 1,000 WATT CLASS-D BI-AMPLIFICATION: Drives a 12" LF cone and 1.4" HF compression driver at 131 dB Max SPL
  • FIR-X LINEAR-PHASE TUNING: Yamaha proprietary DSP delivers tighter transient response than IIR-based competitors
  • D-CONTOUR FOH/MONITOR SWITCH: Toggle between front-of-house voicing and floor monitor wedge voicing with one button
  • 2-CHANNEL ONBOARD MIXER: CH1 XLR/TRS combo for mic or line + CH2 XLR/TRS combo + RCA for instrument or DJ source
  • XLR MIX OUT DAISY-CHAIN: Cascade post-mix signal to a second speaker — stereo PA pair from one mixer connection
  • 52 HZ TO 20 KHZ FREQUENCY RANGE: Full-range from the 12" cone — no subwoofer required for most program material
  • 90° H x 60° V COVERAGE: Wide HF dispersion covers small to mid audiences without dead zones
  • SYMMETRICAL CABINET + 35MM POLE SOCKET + M10 FLY POINT: Vertical FOH on a pole or tilted floor wedge — one speaker, both jobs
  • HIGH-IMPACT ABS CABINET WITH STEEL GRILLE: 34.8 lb single-hand lift, road-ready for mobile DJs and bands
  • 90 W AT 1/8 RATED POWER: Runs on a standard 15A circuit without tripping breakers

Yamaha DBR12: 1,000W Powered Loudspeaker Built for Mobile DJ, Live PA, and Stage Monitor Duty

The Yamaha DBR12 is the 12-inch 1,000W powered loudspeaker that mobile DJs, wedding and event PA operators, house-of-worship audio engineers, and small-venue bands reach for first. Inside the high-impact ABS cabinet sits a Class-D bi-amplifier driving a 12-inch LF cone and a 1.4-inch HF compression driver, paired with Yamaha proprietary FIR-X DSP tuning that delivers linear-phase crossover behavior and 131 dB max SPL — clean output at any level. The cabinet is symmetrical with a 35mm pole socket on the bottom and integrated handles, so the same speaker works as a vertical FOH speaker on a stand or a tilted floor monitor wedge on stage. For sound providers who need a workhorse that does both jobs in one purchase, the DBR12 is the answer.

1,000W Class-D Amplification, 131 dB Max SPL, 52 Hz to 20 kHz

Class-D amplification was chosen for the DBR12 because it stays linear at the high current demands a 12-inch driver pulls during a kick drum hit or a synth bass slam — and because Class-D runs cool and efficient, the cabinet stays lightweight at 34.8 lb. Max SPL of 131 dB is enough output for a 100-300 person audience or an open-air wedding ceremony without distortion. Frequency range runs 52 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB), so the DBR12 delivers full-range output for most program material — a separate subwoofer is optional, not required.

FIR-X Linear-Phase Tuning and D-Contour Voicing Modes

Yamaha's proprietary FIR-X tuning uses finite impulse response (FIR) filters instead of traditional IIR filters at the crossover point — the result is linear-phase behavior across the audio band, meaning the LF cone and HF compression driver are time-aligned at every frequency. Transients (drum hits, plosive consonants, sharp pluck attacks) stay coherent instead of smearing across the crossover region. The D-Contour switch on the back panel toggles between two voicings: FOH mode is tuned for front-of-house projection with extended low-frequency punch; Monitor mode is tuned for floor wedge use with reduced low-frequency content and adjusted HF dispersion for an upward-firing monitor angle.

2-Channel Onboard Mixer with XLR/TRS Combo + RCA Inputs

The back panel includes a 2-channel mixer that eliminates the need for an external mixer in many setups. CH1 has an XLR/TRS combo jack that accepts a mic-level or line-level source — perfect for a vocal mic in a solo or duo setup. CH2 has another XLR/TRS combo jack plus an RCA stereo input that sums to mono — perfect for a DJ controller, laptop, or media player feed. Each channel has its own Level knob plus a Master volume; that's all the controls a small show needs. An XLR Mix Out on the back daisy-chains the mixed signal to a second DBR12 for stereo PA setups — one source connection, two speakers.

Symmetrical Cabinet: Vertical FOH or Tilted Floor Wedge

The DBR12 cabinet is symmetrical with a 35mm pole socket on the bottom for pole-mount FOH use and an integrated tilt angle on the side for monitor wedge use on stage. The same speaker that's on the pole during the warmup band's set can be on the floor during the headliner's monitor mix — no second speaker purchase required. An M10 fly point on the top allows rigging in permanently installed venues. Integrated ergonomic handles on each side support fast load-in and load-out.

Built for the Road: ABS Cabinet, Steel Grille, 34.8 lb Single-Hand Lift

The cabinet is high-impact ABS plastic — strong enough to survive being thrown in a van between gigs, light enough at 34.8 lb to carry one-handed. A sleek steel grille protects the drivers and reinforces cabinet rigidity. Standard IEC power inlet. Power consumption at 1/8 rated output is 90 W, so the DBR12 runs on a standard 15A circuit without tripping breakers — important when a venue's power is shared across multiple speakers, lights, and DJ gear.

Who the DBR12 Is For

Mobile DJs running wedding receptions, corporate events, and private parties who need a workhorse FOH speaker that also handles monitor wedge duty when the bride wants to sing karaoke. Live bands playing 100-300 person venues who need a stereo PA that breaks down to two speakers and a stand bag. Houses of worship needing FOH speakers that double as stage monitors for the praise team. Solo and duo musicians whose entire rig is one DBR12, a mic, and an instrument cable. School auditoriums, gym sound systems, and corporate AV. Sold individually — this kit includes 2 for a complete stereo PA pair.
