The Rode 6-Meter Premium Balanced XLR Cable in Red is a premium 6-meter (19.7-foot) microphone cable built around a standard 3-pin balanced XLR with male-to-female termination. The jacket is heavy-duty red PVC color-matched to the Rode NT1 Signature Series in Red — the cable that the NT1 Sig Red owner reaches for first when building a visually unified studio. It carries balanced audio with full common-mode rejection across the run, so hum, buzz, and RF interference do not show up at the input.
Balanced operation runs the audio on two conductors at opposite polarity plus a shield. At the receiving end, the interface inverts the polarity of one conductor and sums both. Any noise picked up along the run — hum from nearby power supplies, RF interference from monitors and routers, fluorescent ballast buzz — exists on both conductors equally and cancels in the sum. The signal, which is at opposite polarity, doubles. The result: clean signal arrives at the preamp even after a 19.7-foot run through electrically noisy environments.
Six meters is the cable length that covers the most common home studio configurations: a tripod-mounted microphone across the room from a desk-mounted interface, a vocal booth wired to a rack outside, a tabletop boom arm with slack for repositioning. Shorter cables run out of length when the mic position changes; much longer cables coil into unmanageable bundles. 6m is the sweet spot.
Rode designed the cable's jacket color to match the glossy red finish of the NT1 Signature Series Red microphone. For streamers building an on-camera studio, video podcasters with multi-mic setups, and home studio owners who care how the rig looks from the doorway, the color match completes the visual. The cable is a tool, not just a connector — when the studio is in the frame, the red on the cable should match the red on the mic.
This is a standard 3-pin XLR cable. Pin 1 ground, pin 2 hot, pin 3 cold — the universal wiring scheme. It works with the NT1 Signature Red and any other 3-pin XLR microphone. It works with every audio interface combo input, every mixer XLR input, every preamp and DI box on the market. No proprietary connectors, no special routing, no driver software — just a clean signal path from one piece of gear to the next.
