  • 3.5MM TRRS TO TRRS: Male-to-male connectors pass audio in both directions for two-way phone segments
  • 4.9 FT (1.5 M) LENGTH: Enough reach to place a phone comfortably beside a podcast console
  • SHIELDED CONSTRUCTION: Keeps call and device audio clean and free of interference
  • WIDE DEVICE SUPPORT: Works with a range of TRRS audio devices, not only smartphones

Rode SC9: Bring a Phone Into the RODECaster Pro

The Rode SC9 is a 4.9 ft (1.5 m) 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS cable made to connect a smartphone or other device to the smartphone channel on the RODECaster Pro. It is the link that lets you add a caller to a podcast or livestream: run the cable from the phone to the console and the caller's voice comes in on its own channel, while the mix goes back to them. For a show that takes calls or interviews guests by phone, it is a small cable that opens a big door.

A 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS Cable

Both ends of the SC9 carry a male 3.5mm TRRS connector, and the wiring is what matters: TRRS to TRRS passes audio in both directions rather than just one. That two-way path is what a phone call needs — incoming audio from the caller and a return feed so they can hear the show. The shielded construction keeps that signal clean over the full length, so call-in segments sound clear rather than thin or noisy.

Why TRRS to TRRS Matters

A standard cable that carries audio one way is fine for a microphone, but a phone segment is a conversation: the caller has to hear the host as clearly as the host hears them. The four-contact TRRS connector on each end lets the SC9 send and receive at the same time, so the RODECaster Pro can take the caller's audio and send a clean mix-minus feed back to the phone. It is the correct cable for the job, not a workaround.

Who the SC9 Is For

The SC9 is made for the podcaster, streamer, or broadcaster who wants to bring phone audio into a RODECaster Pro. Use it for call-in shows, remote guests joining by phone, and playing audio from a device into the mix. At 4.9 ft (1.5 m), it gives you room to set a phone beside the console and keep your desk tidy while the segment runs.
