Rode SC15 Features:

  • MFI-CERTIFIED LIGHTNING AUDIO: Apple-certified accessory cable purpose-built for USB-C Rode microphones
  • USB-C MALE TO LIGHTNING MALE: One direct cable, no adapters or dongles in the signal path
  • INLINE JUNCTION BOX: Adds strain relief at the Lightning port and tidies the cable run
  • 11.8 IN COMPACT LENGTH: Sized for rig-mounted mics sitting close to a Lightning phone
  • SHIELDED CONDUCTORS: Reduce RF and EMI pickup along the short cable run
  • CLASS-COMPLIANT USB AUDIO PASSTHROUGH: Connected Rode mic shows up as a standard USB audio input on iOS
  • NO BATTERIES OR POWER REQUIRED: Bus power runs from the Lightning port to the microphone

Rode SC15: The Lightning Cable That Connects Your USB-C Rode Mic to Your iPhone

The SC15 is the MFi-certified accessory cable Rode built specifically to bridge a USB-C Rode microphone to a Lightning-port iOS device. The connection is direct — USB-C male on one end, Lightning male on the other, with no adapters, no dongles, and no third-party hub between them. The result is a clean audio path from a class-compliant Rode USB-C microphone to the iPhone or iPad you already shoot on.

Purpose-Built for the VideoMic NTG, VideoMic GO II, NT-USB+, and Wireless GO II

This is an MFi-certified accessory cable, not a generic charge-and-sync cable. Rode designed it to work with their MFi-certified USB-C microphones — the VideoMic NTG, VideoMic GO II, NT-USB+, and Wireless GO II receiver. When the cable is in the signal chain, the connected Rode mic appears to the iOS device as a class-compliant USB audio input — no app required, no Bluetooth pairing, no driver install. Open the camera app, the Reels editor, or any audio-capable iOS app, and the Rode mic is the input.

11.8-In Length Sized for Rig-Mounted Phone Shooters

The 11.8 in (300 mm) length is engineered for the way mobile creators actually shoot. With the phone in a cage or cold-shoe rig and the mic mounted on top, the cable run between the mic and the Lightning port is short and direct. There is no excess cable to coil, no slack flapping in the shot, and no tension on either connector. For longer runs — interview setups where the mic sits further from the phone — Rode also makes the SC19 (4.9 ft) variant.

Inline Junction Box for Strain Relief and Cable Management

An inline junction box sits along the run, adding strain relief at the Lightning side and a clean anchor point that keeps the cable lying flat against the rig. The shielded conductors reduce RF and EMI pickup over the short run — important on a phone rig that often sits next to wireless gear, LED lights, and other electronic noise sources. The mechanical and electrical design both reflect a cable built around an active audio signal path, not a general-purpose data cable.

Audio Accessory Cable Only — Not a Charging Cable

One important distinction: the SC15 is a Lightning accessory cable for MFi-certified Rode microphones. It does not charge the iOS device and it does not sync data. Plug a Rode USB-C mic into the USB-C end, plug the Lightning end into a Lightning iPhone or iPad, and the device passes audio between them. For anything else — charging the phone, syncing files — use the standard Apple Lightning-to-USB cable that ships with the device.

Who This SC15 Is For

The first-time mobile creator who just bought a Rode USB-C microphone and needs to get it into their existing Lightning iPhone without buying an entirely new shooting setup. The vlogger or short-form creator on a Lightning-port iPad who wants the convenience of one direct cable instead of a USB-C-to-Lightning adapter dongle. The journalist or videographer running a phone-anchored rig who needs reliable broadcast-grade audio into the camera app or recording app with zero setup ritual. One cable closes the gap between Rode USB-C audio and Apple Lightning hardware.
