Rode GN1: Put the Microphone Exactly Where You Need It
The Rode GN1 is a miniature flexible gooseneck mount, made to extend and position the remote capsule of the Rode NT6. It is a small, bendable neck that solves a specific problem: getting a microphone into a spot a rigid stand or clamp can never reach, and then holding it there. For the engineer close-miking an instrument, capturing sound in a confined space or placing a capsule with real precision, the GN1 turns fixed placement into free placement.
How a Gooseneck Gives You Precise Placement
A gooseneck is a flexible metal neck that bends to any shape and stays there, and the GN1 puts that flexibility between your mount and the NT6's capsule. Its 3.3-inch (85 mm) neck lets you angle and aim the microphone into positions a straight mount cannot manage, then holds firm so the capsule does not drift or droop while you record. Combined with the swivel mount supplied with the NT6, it gives you total control over where the remote capsule points.
