The RME MADI SFP Module (Multi-Mode) is an optical SFP transceiver that adds fiber-based MADI to compatible RME devices such as the 12Mic, AVB Tool, and M-1610 Pro. It carries up to 64 audio channels of MADI over multimode fiber, reaching up to about 2 kilometers on OM-1 cable. How the SFP Module Adds Optical MADI

The module is hot-pluggable, meaning you can insert or remove it while the RME MADI device is powered on, so adding or servicing an optical link never requires shutting the system down. It uses an LC fiber connector and ships with an LC-to-SC adapter cable plus an SC-SC coupler, so it connects directly to the SC-terminated fiber common on many MADI devices.
