The Radial Cube is a compact desktop 500 Series power rack that houses three modules and delivers up to 500 milliamps of shared current to run them. It brings the fun and flexibility of modular 500 Series audio, mic preamps, EQs, compressors, and DIs, into a frame small enough to grab with one hand. For the engineer who wants studio-grade tone that fits in a bag and travels to the next session, the Cube turns a shelf of modules into a mobile channel strip you can take anywhere.
The 500 Series is an open modular standard where individual audio processors slide into a shared powered frame instead of each needing its own case and supply. That shared approach lets you assemble a custom signal chain, choosing exactly the preamp, EQ, and dynamics you want, and swap modules as your needs change. The Cube follows the open 500 Series specification, so it hosts the latest Radial modules while staying backward compatible with older-format processors from across the ecosystem.
Modules only sound their best when the rack gives them enough clean current, and the Cube's external supply delivers a stout 500 milliamps across its three slots, averaging 166 milliamps per slot for even power-hungry designs. Just as importantly, a separate 48-volt phantom tap provides a full 10 milliamps dedicated to microphone preamps, so lighting up a condenser mic never robs current from the rest of your chain. An auto-resetting fuse on each slot protects the system if a faulty module is inserted.
Traditional racks make you patch modules together with jumper cables on the back panel, but the Cube replaces that clutter with an innovative feed function that connects one module into the next in series internally, no cable required. Pairing modules for stereo is just as clean: instead of soldering a hard link, you sync two modules together with a simple switch. It makes building a channel strip or a stereo processing chain fast, tidy, and reversible.
Signal integrity starts at the connectors, so the Cube uses gold-plated EDAC 15-pin card-edge contacts inside and Neutrik jacks with non-tarnishing nickel-silver contacts on the rear. Each of the three slots offers a balanced XLR and a 1/4-inch TRS for inputs and outputs, ready for cross-patching and parallel processing. Every slot also carries an OmniPort, a TRS jack that lets a module maker add a special function such as a key input on a gate, extending what your modules can do.
With three slots to fill, the Cube is a canvas for your favorite signal chain. Combine a mic preamp, an EQ, and a dynamics processor to create a complete recording channel, or build a guitar front end that records direct, sends the track out to pedals, and reamps it back through an amp emulator. Because there is no audio circuitry in the path beyond the connectors, the Cube adds no color, distortion, or artifact; what you hear is purely your modules.
The Cube is for the mobile engineer who records on location and needs studio-grade modules that pick up and go; for the project-studio owner building a first 500 Series channel strip without a large rack; and for the module collector who wants to cherry-pick a few processors for a session away from the main system. Load three modules, pack it in a bag, and take your signal chain wherever the work is.
