The Radial Engineering Catapult RX4M is a four-channel audio receiver designed to route mic-level signals over standard Cat5 or Cat6 cable and convert them back to balanced XLR outputs at the destination. Built for live sound, touring, and installed audio systems, it allows engineers to move multiple microphone signals across long distances using affordable network cabling while maintaining professional audio quality.

Designed for Seamless Pairing with Catapult TX4M

Used in combination with the Catapult TX4M transmitter, the RX4M receives four channels of balanced audio through a single etherCON connection. This setup replaces bulky analog snakes with lightweight Cat5 infrastructure, making load-ins faster and stage layouts cleaner. It is an ideal solution for large stages, churches, theaters, and venues where fast deployment and cable management matter.

Direct and Isolated XLR Outputs for Flexible Signal Routing

The RX4M provides eight XLR outputs arranged in two banks. Four outputs are direct connections that support phantom power when used with shielded Cat5 or Cat6 cable. The remaining four outputs are transformer isolated, helping prevent hum and noise caused by ground loops. This dual-output design allows signals to be split to multiple destinations such as front-of-house, monitor consoles, or recording systems.

EtherCON Thru for Expanded Audio Distribution

In addition to the main Cat5 input, the RX4M includes an etherCON thru connection that allows audio to be passed along to additional Catapult units. This makes it easy to distribute microphone signals across multiple rooms or stage zones without repatching. System designers and contractors can take advantage of existing structured cabling to move audio throughout an entire facility.

Ground Isolation and Noise Control for Professional Results

A dedicated ground-lift switch on the Cat5 connection helps eliminate unwanted noise introduced by grounding differences between connected systems. Combined with transformer isolation on selected outputs, the RX4M is well suited for environments where clean, reliable audio is critical, including broadcast, corporate AV, and live performance applications.

The RX4M is housed in a rugged steel enclosure built for repeated transport and daily use. A steel carry handle makes it easy to move between stages, while four protective bumpers shield the etherCON connectors and ground-lift switch from impact damage. Inside, a military-spec circuit board ensures long-term durability and consistent performance in demanding conditions.
