Neumann EA 1 MT: Matte-Black Isolation for the TLM 103
The Neumann EA 1 MT is a matte-black elastic suspension shock mount for the TLM 103 and its body-matched siblings, delivering the same rumble rejection as the nickel EA 1 in a finish built to vanish on camera. Rubber suspension bands suspend the microphone in a floating spider, decoupling it from the stand so footsteps, boom bumps, and building vibration never register as low-frequency thumps. The cradle also accepts the M 147 Tube, TLM 193, and TLM 49. Where the room is lit and the shot is tight, the non-reflective black keeps the hardware invisible.
Aim, Lock, and Mount Anywhere
A swiveling yoke tilts the microphone onto a seated host or a standing vocalist and locks the angle without creep. The base threads directly onto a 5/8-inch-27 stand or boom, and the supplied adapter drops it to 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch studs for legacy and location stands. The microphone seats and releases in seconds. Between shots the EA 1 MT stays on the arm, ready for the next setup.
Nickel or Matte
Choose the EA 1 MT when a matte-black TLM 103 MT, or any TLM 193, M 147, or TLM 49, needs suspension that stays out of the frame. The nickel EA 1 covers classic silver-bodied rigs. Smaller TLM 102 and TLM 107 bodies belong in the EA 4, while the larger U 87 Ai uses the EA 87.
