4-Channel Networked Power Amplifier, 160W per Channel, Dante & Analog Inputs, AES67 Compatible, Onboard 96 kHz DSP, LEA Cloud Control, 70V/100V/Low-Z Outputs
The LEA Professional Connect 164D is a four-channel networked power amplifier delivering 160 watts per channel, the mid-power four-channel model in LEA's Dante Connect Series. It is the amp for the venue that has outgrown quiet background music: a busy restaurant with a lively dining room and patio, a retail flagship with a feature zone, or a worship space running four coverage areas. Like every D model, it takes its four channels of audio off a single Dante cable rather than four analog home-runs. The difference from the 84D is simply headroom: twice the watts per zone on the same networked platform.
At 160 watts a channel, the 164D covers larger or louder rooms than the entry model without adding channels or a second box. Picture a bar whose main room needs to be heard over a crowd while the patio and a private room stay independent; the 164D handles all three with power to spare. Each channel is separately switchable to 70V, 100V or low-Z, so distributed ceiling zones and a low-impedance fill can share one amplifier. When a single zone needs even more, the Smart Power Bridge doubles a channel to 320 watts.
Feed the 164D from a Dante network and any source channel can land on any of its four outputs, reassigned from the console without a site visit. Analog balanced inputs stay available for locations that have not gone fully networked, and AES67 lets the amp interoperate with other audio-over-IP gear through the Dante Controller. This is the practical payoff of the D model over an analog sibling: one cable carries the audio, and routing is a software change rather than a re-patch. A regional operator can re-plan zones across sites from one screen.
The onboard 96 kHz Analog Devices DSP gives each of the four channels eight-band parametric EQ, up to 100 ms of delay and adjustable peak and RMS limiting, tuned from a browser. Register to LEA Cloud and the same controls plus remote monitoring and fault alerts reach any device. An integrator can confirm a room is healthy, or drop a level after hours, without dispatching a technician. GPIO handles remote on/off and fault monitoring for building-system integration.
The 164D joins a network through its built-in Wi-Fi access point, the venue's Wi-Fi, or FAST Ethernet on Cat5 or Cat6, with the same link carrying Dante audio and control. That keeps commissioning fast: a drop and power are enough to bring a new zone online. The Class D output stage and PFC Smart Power supply run on 100-240 VAC, so the same unit ships anywhere. It is designed to be quick to deploy and simple to keep running.
Pick the 164D when four zones need genuine loudness rather than gentle background level: the mid-size restaurant, the retail flagship, the mid-power worship room. It sits above the 84D for headroom and below the 354D when the zones need still more power, giving four channels of 160-watt output with full networking, DSP and cloud control. As the mid-power four-channel amp in the Dante Connect line, it balances zone count, power and cost for the busy multi-zone room. It is the middle ground most four-zone installs actually land on.
