4x1 4K/18G HDBaseT Wall-Plate Switcher and Transmitter, Dual HDMI DisplayPort and USB-C Inputs, USB 2.0 Host and Device Ports, 328 ft (100 m) Range, HDCP 2.2, Power over HDBaseT, Auto-Switching, CEC Display Control, IR and RS-232 Extension, US Three-Gang Mount
The Key Digital KD-X4X1WUTX is a 4x1 4K/18G HDBaseT wall-plate switcher and transmitter with two HDMI, one DisplayPort, and one USB-C input plus USB 2.0 host and device ports. It unifies multi-format source selection, single-cable USB-C connectivity, and a soft-codec USB hub in one plate at the presentation position, transmitting the chosen source up to 328 ft (100 m) to a paired receiver. Building four inputs and the meeting peripherals into the plate keeps every laptop connection and the room's own devices together at one flush point. For hybrid meeting rooms it is the connection point that handles any device a presenter brings.
Two HDMI, one DisplayPort, and one USB-C input cover resident computers, guest laptops, and modern devices that carry video and data over a single USB-C cable. USB-C is increasingly the one port on a slim laptop, and a single USB-C connection can deliver video, USB data, and even device charging at once for clean bring-your-own-device presenting. Auto-sensing selects a newly connected source and switches away when a source disconnects, so a presenter simply plugs in and appears on screen. That hands-off behavior keeps walk-up meetings moving without anyone hunting for an input button.
USB host and device ports create a connectivity hub linking professional cameras, microphones, audio DSP, keyboards, mice, or a touchscreen to a connected computer. In a soft-codec meeting the call runs on a resident or guest PC, which needs the room's camera and audio devices attached even though they sit at the display end. Routing those peripherals over the same link removes the need for a separate USB extender and ties every device to whichever computer is presenting. This lets the plate serve as the front end for hybrid conferencing across a wide mix of laptops.
4K/Ultra-HD signals extend up to 328 ft (100 m) and 1080p up to 492 ft (150 m) over the HDBaseT link to a paired receiver or presentation switcher, with HDCP 2.2 compliance and up to 18 Gbps of bandwidth. HDBaseT carries uncompressed video on a single CAT-5e/6 cable, holding full detail and color well past the roughly 15 ft practical limit of a passive HDMI cable. USB 2.0, IR, and RS-232 travel on the same cable, so peripherals and control reach the far end with no extra wiring. One run links the plate to a distant display, its meeting devices, and its control paths together.
A built-in CEC control keypad powers, mutes, and adjusts the connected display or projector without additional control wiring. CEC is an HDMI-native command channel that rides the existing video connection, so the plate can turn a screen on or off and set its volume with no separate control cable. When scanned by the free Key Digital app, the transmitter also populates a pre-built interface, and full setup is handled in Key Digital Management Software for repeatable room programming. Together these give a room simple one-touch operation and integrators a design they can replicate.
Power over HDBaseT lets the plate draw its power from the paired receiver or presentation switcher through the link cable, so no local outlet is needed. Power over HDBaseT sends DC power along the same twisted-pair cable that carries the AV signal, keeping a separate supply out of the wall box. The unit fits a standard US three-gang wall box, keeping the source area clean at lecterns, tables, and walls. An installer mounts it flush without adding electrical work behind the plate.
Conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, lecture halls, and auditoriums use this wall plate as a universal four-input hub for hybrid collaboration. By switching HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C, bridging USB peripherals to a host, and extending 4K and control to 328 ft (100 m), it delivers a complete single-plate meeting front end. A boardroom can welcome any guest device over USB-C while routing its camera and microphones to the presenting laptop from one plate. That consolidation removes table clutter and gives integrators one repeatable front end for every hybrid room.
