DAW Control Surface Extender for V1-M, 8 Touch-Sensitive Motorized Faders, Per-Channel TFT Displays, LED Meter Bridge, 8 Dual-Function Encoders, Mackie Control & HUI, USB-C
The iCON Pro Audio V1-X is a control surface extender that adds eight 100mm touch-sensitive motorized faders and per-channel TFT displays to a V1-M, and it does not run on its own. Its faders, screens, and buttons mirror the V1-M exactly, and magnetic alignment pegs seat it flush against the main unit so the two read as one desk. Where the V1-M gives eight channel faders, a V1-X puts a second labeled eight permanently under hand. For an engineer past the flagship's channel count, it is the way to build a wider console without starting over.
Each V1-X strip is a 100mm touch-sensitive motorized fader at 12-bit, matched to the V1-M so nothing changes in feel across the join. Motor recall repositions the caps with every automation pass and channel selection, and touch sensing arms write on contact. Mixing a large session, an engineer keeps more channels genuinely under the fingers than a single bank could hold. The added faders behave as though they were always part of the surface.
An onboard TFT plus a 1.1-inch TFT atop each strip carry track names, control values, and colors, exactly as the main unit does. Per-fader labels keep every target clear even when the mix spreads across several banks. That lets a mixer work a wide layout confidently, reading the desk instead of the computer monitor. No fader in the expanded surface is ever a guess.
Adding V1-X units to a V1-M scales the surface to 16, 32, or up to 64 channels, the ceiling set by the host DAW. Each extender contributes exactly eight more faders and their displays, so the rig grows in clean, labeled blocks. A re-recording mixer can lay dialogue, music, and effects stems across dedicated banks and balance them fast. The desk widens to the size of the reel rather than the size of one bank.
An LED meter bridge, eight dual-function encoders, and per-channel mute, solo, select, and record keys cover the strip. Over Universal Mackie Control (MCU) and HUI, the added faders and buttons behave identically to the V1-M inside Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Studio One, FL Studio, Bitwig, Reaper, Cakewalk, Digital Performer, Reason, and Tracktion Waveform. Once the V1-M is configured, the extender needs no setup of its own. It joins the session as more of the same surface.
Driven by a Cortex-M7 500 MHz processor, the V1-X connects over USB-C and runs from a 12V/2.5A DC adapter in a metal chassis with a Kensington lock port. It is a companion to the V1-M, not a standalone controller, aimed at studios and post suites already running a V1-M. Magnetically seated beside the flagship, it keeps the whole mix labeled and within reach. As the track count climbs, the surface simply grows to meet it.
