Professional Format Conversion in a Compact Solution
The Decimator Design MD-DUCC is a compact and versatile signal converter engineered for professional AV workflows. Designed to seamlessly convert between SD, HD, and 3G-SDI formats, it supports both upscaling and downscaling, delivering output in multiple formats such as HDMI, SDI, composite, component, and S-Video (Y/C). Whether you're working on location or in a studio, this device provides a flexible way to bridge video sources and displays with different signal requirements.
Supports HDMI and SDI Outputs for Multiple Applications
This standalone cross converter takes in a 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal and outputs it simultaneously through HDMI, dual SDI outputs, and analog video formats. With auto input detection and a full 10-bit data path, it ensures accurate and reliable signal translation every time. The MD-DUCC is ideal for broadcast engineers, AV techs, and video producers who need to mix legacy and modern equipment without compromising video quality.
Accurate Scaling and Frame Rate Conversion
True cross-conversion is a standout feature of this unit. It allows you to select your desired output format and automatically scales and converts the incoming signal accordingly. Whether you're going from SD to HD, HD to SD, or maintaining within the same standard but changing aspect ratio or frame rate, the MD-DUCC handles it with precision. The integrated motion-adaptive deinterlacing helps preserve detail and reduce artifacts when converting interlaced signals.
Advanced Aspect Ratio and Graticule Tools Included
The converter supports full aspect ratio conversion between 16:9, 14:9, and 4:3, with user-defined settings for how each conversion behaves depending on the input and output formats. In addition, the built-in graticule generator provides overlays like Action Safe, Title Safe, and Center Cross—essential for content producers prepping video for broadcast or final delivery to SD displays.
Built-In Audio Metering with Visual Customization
In addition to robust video processing, the MD-DUCC includes 16-channel audio metering. Any of the four embedded audio groups from the SDI input can be monitored with on-screen meters that support multiple scales and configurations. Adjust bar sizes, float behavior, reference levels, and color zones to your exact metering preferences.
Flexible Analog and Digital Output Options
For legacy equipment integration, the MD-DUCC outputs component, composite, and S-Video via three BNC connectors. It also offers de-embedded audio through two RCA jacks, configurable for analog or AES digital output. With a threaded locking power connector and onboard configuration buttons and LEDs, the unit is equally suited for field use and rackmount studio setups.
Reliable Power and Control Options Built In
The converter includes a USB port for firmware updates and computer-based control, but its onboard buttons and status LEDs allow full configuration without additional hardware. The GPI interface over RJ-45 offers support for tally triggers, while the locking DC power input keeps the unit reliably powered even in high-traffic environments.
