Multi-Zone Power Amplifier for Versatile Installations
The AtlasIED CLA404 is a four-channel, 400-watt Class D amplifier built for commercial AV systems that require flexible zone configurations and load types. Designed to handle both low impedance (2Ω, 4Ω, 8Ω) and high impedance (25V, 70.7V, 100V) speaker systems, this unit allows installers to match amplifier output precisely to application needs. Each channel’s power and impedance setting is independently selectable, making the CLA404 ideal for background music, paging, and distributed sound reinforcement in environments like retail, hospitality, and education.
Advanced Power Share Technology Maximizes Flexibility
What sets the CLA404 apart is its patent-pending Power Share design, which enables power allocation between channels in selectable ratios. For example, you can assign 175W to one channel and 25W to another, or run 2 x 125W and 2 x 75W configurations—giving installers unprecedented control over zone output. Power settings and load types are selected via rear panel DIP switches for quick adjustments without needing external DSP.
Compact and Energy Efficient with Smart Cooling
Built for energy-conscious installations, the CLA404 consumes less than 1W in standby mode, meeting Energy Star standards. It runs silently under typical loads thanks to a convection-cooled thermal transfer design. When needed, a variable-speed fan activates for additional cooling without noise disruption. The amplifier’s compact 1RU, half-rack design includes mounting brackets, making it easy to install in tight AV cabinets.
Configurable Channels with Mute and Remote Control Support
Each channel features rear-panel attenuators for gain control and a GPI (general purpose input) for priority mute. A remote level control port allows easy external volume adjustment for each output. These features make the CLA404 a strong candidate for environments where paging or emergency override is required.
Reliable Audio Performance with Protection Circuits
This amplifier maintains clean output with a signal-to-noise ratio of over 93 dBA and less than 0.15% total harmonic distortion at rated power. Built-in protection for short circuits, overheating, and overload conditions ensures long-term reliability. Front panel LED indicators for signal, limit, and fault status allow for quick diagnostics during installation or service.
