Waves SoundGrid Integration for dLive and Avantis Consoles

The Allen & Heath M-DL-WAVES3-A Waves V3 Audio Networking Card allows dLive and Avantis digital mixers to connect directly to the Waves SoundGrid ecosystem. By installing this card into the mixer’s I/O port, engineers gain access to real-time Waves plug-in processing, audio networking, and digital mic splitting using standard Cat 5e Ethernet cabling.

High-Capacity Audio Networking at 96 kHz

This Waves V3 card provides up to 128 inputs and 128 outputs of audio at sample rates of 48 kHz or 96 kHz, making it suitable for complex live sound, broadcast, and touring systems. The high channel count supports large-scale productions where multiple console feeds, plug-in processing paths, and recording systems need to run simultaneously with consistent performance.

Low-Latency Waves Plug-In Processing

Designed for the Waves SoundGrid protocol, the M-DL-WAVES3-A enables engineers to run Waves plug-ins with extremely low latency. Processing can be handled natively on a Mac or Windows computer or offloaded to dedicated Waves SoundGrid servers, allowing flexible system design while maintaining reliable, real-time performance for live mixing environments.

Flexible Network Topology and System Expansion

The card supports SoundGrid thru switching and VLAN configurations, making it easy to integrate into existing networked audio systems. Multiple cards can be deployed within the same system—up to five total—allowing large productions to scale audio routing, plug-in distribution, and digital splits across multiple consoles and devices without compromising signal integrity.

Long-Distance Connectivity Using Standard Ethernet

Audio, control data, and plug-in processing are transported over standard Cat 5e cabling with supported cable runs of up to 328 feet. This makes the Waves V3 card ideal for front-of-house, monitor world, broadcast trucks, and remote processing racks where long cable distances are common.

Seamless Compatibility with Allen and Heath Ecosystems

The M-DL-WAVES3-A is fully compatible with Allen & Heath dLive S Class and C Class systems as well as Avantis mixers. Once installed, the card integrates tightly with the console architecture, allowing SoundGrid audio streams to be patched directly within the mixer for efficient routing and system control.
