Allen & Heath DT164-W: 16x4 Wallmount Dante Stagebox

The Allen & Heath DT164-W is a 16x4 wallmount audio I/O expander that puts sixteen remote mic/line inputs and four line outputs onto a Dante or AES67 network. Built into a wallmount chassis, it brings a full stagebox worth of I/O to a stage edge, install wall, or equipment room without occupying a rack. Its 96 kHz converters and low-noise preamps deliver professional capture at the source, while gain, pad, and phantom are all controlled remotely from the mixer. For a venue that needs many inputs far from the console, it replaces a heavy analog snake with a single network cable. It is a cornerstone I/O box for networked Allen & Heath systems.

Allen & Heath DT164-W: Low-Noise 96 kHz Preamps

Each of the sixteen inputs uses a low-noise preamp feeding a 96 kHz converter, giving clean, high-resolution capture of microphones and line sources. Per-input selectable 48V phantom power supports condenser microphones and active DI boxes directly at the box. Gain, pad, and phantom are set remotely from a connected dLive or SQ mixer, so an engineer controls every distant input from front-of-house. This remote command of high-quality preamps is what makes the DT164-W a true extension of the console rather than a passive converter. The audio arrives on the network already at professional standard.

Allen & Heath DT164-W: Redundant Dante and AES67 Networking

The DT164-W connects over Dante and the open AES67 standard, carrying all sixteen inputs and four outputs on standard Ethernet. It provides dual etherCON ports for primary and secondary network paths, so if one cable or switch fails, audio continues on the redundant link. These are self-locking connectors that stay seated under the stresses of live use. For touring and mission-critical installs, this network redundancy is essential insurance against a single point of failure. It lets engineers trust a single box with a large portion of a show's I/O.

Allen & Heath DT164-W: Redundant Power and Rugged Build

Power can come from 100-230V AC mains or from a 12V DC source, allowing a redundant power arrangement that keeps the box running if one supply drops. That flexibility suits both permanent installs, where a DC backup can be wired in, and touring rigs that need resilience. The wallmount chassis is built to sit at a stage edge or on an install wall, keeping the I/O close to the sources. Combining redundant power with redundant networking makes the DT164-W a dependable anchor for a professional system.

Allen & Heath DT164-W: Scales Across A&H Systems

The DT164-W integrates deeply with Allen & Heath's ecosystem, working with dLive, SQ, Avantis, and AHM systems fitted with a Dante card. Up to sixteen units can be added on an AHM-64, SQ, Avantis, or dLive system, scaling remote I/O to very large channel counts. Because control travels with the audio over Dante, adding a box adds both its inputs and full remote control of its preamps. For a growing installation or a touring rig that expands over time, this scalability means the same hardware grows with the system.

Allen & Heath DT164-W: Where It Delivers

The DT164-W is at home in houses of worship, concert venues and theaters, and fixed AV installations, and anywhere a dLive or SQ system needs remote stage I/O. Mount it at the stage edge to capture a full input list, or on a wall to feed a central mixer from a distant room. Its wallmount format, redundant connections, and remote-controlled preamps make it equally suited to permanent installs and demanding live production. For engineers building serious networked Allen & Heath systems, the DT164-W is the wallmount stagebox that carries the load.
