The ADAM Audio A8H-R is the Right, mirror-imaged version of the A8H, the true 3-way active midfield monitor that crowns the A Series. It brings together an 8-inch MLM woofer, a dedicated DCH midrange, and the handmade X-ART ribbon tweeter, powered by 340 W of peak tri-amplification and reaching down to 31 Hz. For the engineer building a reference-grade midfield rig who demands the most revealing monitor in the lineup, the A8H is the summit. This Right cabinet is designed to work alongside the A8H-L, together forming a mirror-imaged pair tuned for exact, centered imaging.
Because the A8H is offered in mirror-imaged Left and Right versions, this Right unit has its driver arrangement flipped so the tweeter and midrange face toward the room center when it sits on the right of the pair. Placing both high-frequency sections symmetrically around the listening axis sharpens the stereo image and locks center-panned material firmly between the speakers. In a wide midfield configuration, that symmetry is what prevents the phantom center from drifting and keeps the soundstage stable. Matching the Right cabinet to a Left is essential to realizing the imaging precision the A8H is engineered to provide.
The A8H-R centers on a single 8-inch Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) woofer that pushes low-frequency response down to 31 Hz. Its cone is layered with mineral-loaded material to stay stiff yet well-damped, moving as a rigid piston so distortion stays low even during large excursions. The larger 8-inch diaphragm displaces considerably more air than a 7-inch woofer, giving the A8H its deep, controlled low end and genuine full-size authority. That reach lets you evaluate sub-bass and low-end balance accurately in a dedicated midfield room.
The A8H-R uses a 3.5-inch DCH (Dome-Cone Hybrid) midrange, a driver that combines a dome's broad dispersion with a cone's structural rigidity. Since the midrange carries the presence and intelligibility of most vocals and instruments, dedicating a driver to it keeps that band clear and articulate rather than colored by the woofer. The DCH delivers low distortion and consistent dispersion through this sensitive region, so detail and depth remain intact across the sweet spot. Isolating the midrange this way is a key reason the A8H sounds so analytical and honest.
The A8H-R's highs come from ADAM Audio's handmade X-ART tweeter, whose pleated ribbon diaphragm folds and unfolds to move air far faster than the diaphragm itself travels. That accelerating action produces extremely quick transients and extension to 45 kHz, giving the top end air and precision without harshness. The tweeter is mounted in ADAM Audio's rotatable HPS waveguide, which shapes dispersion for a wide, even sweet spot and can be turned to match placement. The blend of speed and controlled directivity yields a top end that stays detailed and stable across the mix position.
As a fully active, tri-amplified monitor, the A8H-R assigns a dedicated amp to each driver: 250 W peak to the woofer, 70 W peak to the midrange, and 20 W peak to the tweeter, for 340 W of total peak power. Performing both crossovers at line level before amplification means each amp is precisely matched to its driver instead of losing energy in a passive network. That integration produces a 105 dB SPL peak at one meter with low distortion and effortless dynamic swing. Clean, high output is what allows the A8H to rival monitors costing considerably more.
The A8H-R contains a 24-bit, 96 kHz DSP engine set over Ethernet with ADAM Audio's free A Control software via the monitor's RJ45 port. A Control provides UNR and Pure voicings along with a 4-band parametric room adaptation, letting you tune the monitor to your room without any outboard EQ. It can also run Sonarworks SoundID Reference calibration directly on its own DSP, embedding a measured correction profile inside the speaker. Keeping correction in the digital domain all the way to the amplifiers protects the flagship-level accuracy the A8H is built around.
The A8H-R is aimed at mastering rooms, critical-listening suites, and commercial studios that need the most detailed midfield monitoring in mid- to full-size spaces. It serves as a main channel in immersive and Atmos systems and shines in film and post-production where accuracy cannot be compromised. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs let it slot into any professional signal chain, and its single front-ported bass-reflex cabinet keeps the low end tight and defined. It is sold individually as the Right speaker, so pair it with an A8H-L to complete a mirror-imaged stereo set.
