This second-generation WA-87 R2 refines the original design with carefully selected upgrades that bring it closer to the character of vintage studio microphones from the 1960s. The circuit is fully discrete and incorporates premium components such as an NOS Fairchild transistor, a custom CineMag USA output transformer, and high-quality Wima film capacitors. These updates result in improved frequency response, higher output level, and smoother overall performance.
