Rackmount Digital Mixer for Live Sound and Recording
The Allen & Heath Qu-SB is a rack-mountable digital mixer designed for live sound reinforcement, installed audio systems, and multitrack recording environments that require professional performance without a traditional control surface. Built around the proven Qu digital mixing platform, it delivers powerful processing, flexible I/O, and full remote control for engineers who want a compact yet capable mixing solution.
Wireless iPad Mixing for Complete Control Anywhere
The Qu-SB is designed to be operated wirelessly using the Qu-Pad iPad app, giving engineers the ability to mix from anywhere in the venue. This approach allows hands-on control at front of house, on stage, or in the audience while adjusting levels, EQ, dynamics, FX, routing, and monitor mixes in real time. The interface is fast, responsive, and intuitive, making it easy to manage complex shows without being tied to a fixed console position.
Recallable AnalogiQ Preamps with Studio-Grade Sound
At the heart of the Qu-SB are sixteen recallable AnalogiQ microphone preamps, engineered for low noise, minimal distortion, and consistent performance. These preamps use a pad-less gain structure with precise 1 dB steps and zero-crossing detection to ensure smooth gain changes and accurate recall between scenes. High-quality 24-bit converters preserve detail and clarity, making the Qu-SB suitable for both live mixing and critical recording applications.
Comprehensive Processing on Every Channel and Output
Every input and mix output includes professional processing tools such as high-pass filtering, gating, compression, delay, and four-band parametric EQ. Mix outputs also feature graphic EQ options for precise system tuning. A built-in RTA with peak frequency indication helps engineers quickly identify problem areas, making system optimization faster and more reliable in challenging acoustic environments.
Integrated Effects and Automatic Microphone Mixing
The Qu-SB includes four internal stereo effects engines derived from Allen & Heath’s touring-grade FX algorithms. These effects cover reverbs, delays, modulation, and dynamics, all with dedicated sends and returns. For spoken-word applications such as conferences and panel discussions, the built-in Automatic Microphone Mixer manages multiple open microphones, reducing background noise and feedback while maintaining clear, balanced speech.
Multitrack USB Recording and System Expansion
The Qu-SB functions as a 32×32 USB audio interface for direct multitrack recording and playback with a computer, making it ideal for live recording, virtual soundchecks, and studio work. It also supports direct multitrack recording to USB drives using Qu-Drive. For larger systems, the dSNAKE port allows expansion up to 38 total inputs using remote stage boxes, and compatibility with the ME Personal Mixing System gives performers individual monitor control.
