Personal Monitor Mixer for Performer Controlled Stage Monitoring
The Allen & Heath ME-1 is a standalone personal monitor mixer designed to give musicians, presenters, and performers direct control over their own monitor mixes. It allows each user to independently balance, pan, and mute their monitoring sources without relying on the front-of-house engineer. This makes it an effective solution for live stages, houses of worship, rehearsal spaces, studios, conferences, and broadcast environments where personalized monitoring improves performance and workflow.
Forty Input Sources Delivered Over a Single Network Cable
The ME-1 can receive audio from up to forty sources via a single Cat5 cable from a compatible digital mixing system or distribution hub. These sources are mixed locally to stereo and mono outputs, allowing performers to drive headphones, in-ear monitors, powered speakers, or wired monitor systems. This streamlined signal delivery reduces cabling complexity on stage while keeping monitor control close to the performer.
Customizable Control Interface with Assignable Keys
Sixteen backlit keys can be freely assigned to individual channels, stereo pairs, or grouped sources, allowing users to simplify complex mixes into manageable controls. Each key provides immediate access to level, pan, solo, and mute functions, making the interface intuitive even in low-light stage environments. Grouping features allow large input counts to be controlled efficiently without overwhelming the user.
Preset Recall and Visual Feedback for Fast Setup
The ME-1 includes sixteen user presets that store level, pan, mute, and key assignments for quick recall between sessions or performers. Presets can also be saved to a USB drive and transferred between units. A clear OLED display provides visual feedback for levels, panning, system setup, and metering, ensuring accurate adjustments during rehearsals or live performances.
Integrated Ambient Mic and Local Audio Inputs
A built-in ambient microphone allows performers using in-ear monitors to hear stage sound and audience response without removing their earpieces. The ambient mic level is controlled independently from the master output. A stereo auxiliary input supports local sources such as click tracks, playback devices, or reference audio, adding flexibility for rehearsals and live shows.
Flexible Networking and Power Options
The ME-1 supports daisy chaining or star network topologies using etherCON connections, making it easy to deploy multiple units across a stage. It can be powered over Cat5 using PoE from a compatible switch or distribution hub, or via the included external power supply. This flexibility supports clean stage layouts and scalable personal monitoring systems.
Mounting Options for Stage and Studio Use
Designed for both free-standing and mounted operation, the ME-1 includes a 3/8-inch threaded insert for microphone stand mounting and a supplied bracket for side-mounting. This allows performers to position the mixer exactly where it is needed, whether standing, seated, or moving between instruments.
